Latest Sermon
Each week our pastor presents a challenge straight from the Scriptures. It is our prayer that every message heard will both bless and challenge those hearts who receive it. There's nothing like being here in person to experience worship together, but when we are unable to, we are thankful to have worship available live and archived on both Facebook and Youtube.

Administrative Committee Meeting – January 14, 2025
Personnel Committee chairman, John Nickles, requested that David Keown, Celebrate Recovery Leader, attend the meeting to give more details regarding the meals that are being served weekly at CR meetings. David said that the CR leadership has agreed to reimburse up to $100 per meal to those who are providing to help offset expenses. He also said that attendance has decreased to between 30-40 people weekly.
Discussion was held regarding the resignation of one of our part-time custodians. We currently have two part-time custodians who have other jobs outside of their church positions. It was debated whether or not to try to hire “from within” or to seek outside applicants. Because of their other obligations, it was assumed that neither of the current custodians would want to take on more responsibilities. We received the names of one company and one individual who will be contacted to give quotes for their services. This information will be given to the Personnel Committee to pursue the best course of action.
Ben Brown, Maintenance Committee chairman, said that the new chiller has been shipped to ChillerTek in Greer. They plan to schedule an installation date in the next 2 months. The current chiller is in need of a replacement valve. Ben is requesting quotes/options on purchasing a new valve. Discussion was also held about the repairs needed for the electronic church sign. Two companies are giving quotes. Once the quotes are received, the AC gave Allyson Walker the authority to proceed with the cheapest bid for repairs. She will email all committee members with the information. Ben is also attempting to get quotes from roofers to repair the damage to the Pavilion during Hurricane Helene.
In the absence of Steve Watkins, Trustee, no updates were available on the soccer field.

Administrative Committee Notes
February 18, 2025
Personnel Report
· Decisions have been made regarding the hiring of another custodian since one resigned. Toni Gilmer’s hours will increase to cover additional responsibilities. Brandon Hawkins will be hired to assume additional duties and to fill in due to sickness or vacation of another custodian. These actions will not cause an increase in the budget.
· Due to error, a staff member was overpaid by approximately $2400 for health insurance; this has been corrected. Since the error was not the individual’s fault, the Finance Committee, in conjunction with the Personnel Committee, and the Administrative Committee voted to forgive the overpayment; no monies will be returned.
Finance Report
· The finance committee voted by majority to allocate excess monies, tithes for the year over actual expenses, into the 50 for Faith and Family account. The amount allocated was $167, 992.40.
· An update of 50 for Faith and Family was provided. Melanie Hahn discussed the following with the committee:
o Phase one will involve the building of a children’s/youth center.
o Drawings should be ready in March at a cost of around $150,000. The architect and builder are working together. One of the many benefits is that Durham and Green is a family owned company that works with churches in our area. They have carefully examined our church’s data and provided input as to how best address our needs. The children’s/youth center was designed to accommodate a 20% growth. Many thanks to Jim Covan for communicating all questions and concerns to the architect.
o We hope to break ground before the end of 2025, and the project will take approximately ten to twelve months to complete.
o The current price is $250 per square foot.
o The committee expressed thanks for the countless hours, hard work, and dedication of the 50 for Faith and Family Committee; they are charged with a tremendous task. Please continue to pray for all our committees and our church as building projects move forward. This is an exciting time for our church.
Maintenance Report
· Our chiller is in Greer at the company purchased from, and installation will hopefully occur in March. We passed on a prior installation date due to the knowledge of a greater need elsewhere.
· Heat was restored today, February 18. Many thanks to Ben Brown for orchestrating this.
· The repair of the Pavillion roof began today, February 18, at a cost of $1900.
