Latest Sermon

Each week our pastor presents a challenge straight from the Scriptures.  It is our prayer that every message heard will both bless and challenge those hearts who receive it.  There's nothing like being here in person to experience worship together, but when we are unable to, we are thankful to have worship available live and archived on both Facebook and Youtube.

We Stand By Broken Hearts.

HONEA PATH FIRST BAPTIST is a place where people can meet Jesus, believers can engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome.  We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for Him.  Join us for our Sunday services!

Meet Our Pastor                                                   Doctor Josh Phillips

Thank You for choosing to visit Honea Path First.  It is a privilege to pastor such a loving and kind church family.  At HPFBC Jesus is our message.  People are our mission.  Love is our method.
I look forward to meeting and serving you in the future.
Administrative Committee Meeting
November 12, 2024

The personnel manual has been completed, approved, and distributed.
Congratulation to Carson Dyar, the new intern for our middle school youth.  He will begin the first of the year and continue for 48 weeks.  Although this is a much longer time period, there will be no additional compensation other than what was budgeted.  Many thanks for his willingness to work throughout the summer months. Please pray for him as he receives training for ministry and pours into our youth.
Sam Gilmer has agreed to assume the monthly duty of locking/unlocking our church doors.
The chiller has arrived at ChillerTek in Greer.  Control connections are being checked and it should be installed in the next 2-3 months.
The compressor at the Vault has been replaced for a little over $600.  Many thanks to Jeffrey McGaha and to Ben Locke who continue to use their skills and knowledge to benefit us.
There is a problem with our church’s digital sign.  One side has a black panel that displays preventing clarity.  A remote diagnostic was completed that revealed two panels and the possibility of one modem needing repair.  Since the sign is no longer under warranty, research is underway to determine our best options.
It has been determined that leases are not the most economical way to supply HPFBC with copy machines. A newer copier has been purchased and will carry a service contract only.  This is the first money spent by the administrative committee at a cost of approximately $10,000.00.
Names were discussed to seek bids for repairing the pavilion’s roof.
At the cost of $12,000, eleven trees and nine stumps were removed.  Four trees fell and seven trees were found to have holes.  Many thanks to Daniel and Michael Guest for help with portions of this; they donated their time, equipment, and expertise to remove two stumps.
Things are finally starting to move regarding the soccer field. The town has a new attorney, the lease is in the final stages, and bids are about to be sought.  Many thanks to Kurt Tavernier for representing HPFBC in this process.
Concerns have been expressed regarding our coffee bar.  Kids are arriving late to Sunday School, half-filled cups are being found throughout our church, and spills continue to create messes.  Listen for further announcements regarding ways to help improve each of these situations.  We appreciate your help in resolving these concerns.
